Privacy Policy for Ivy Backup

Effective date: August 31, 2026

Purpose

Ivy Backup is a private application used solely by its owner to store encrypted backups of a private VPS in the owner's Google Drive.

Google user data accessed

The application uses the Google Drive drive.file permission. It can access only files and folders that the application creates itself. It cannot read unrelated files already stored in the owner's Drive.

How data is used and stored

Google Drive access is used only to upload, verify, restore, and manage encrypted backup files. Backup contents are encrypted on the VPS before being sent to Google Drive. OAuth credentials are stored in a protected server configuration accessible only to the server administrator.

Sharing

Google user data is not sold, shared with advertisers, transferred to data brokers, or used for advertising, analytics, credit decisions, or training AI or machine-learning models.

Retention and deletion

Encrypted backups are retained only for disaster recovery and according to the owner's backup retention settings. The owner can delete the backup folder from Google Drive and revoke the application's access at any time in Google Account security settings.

Limited Use

The application's use of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
